Typically, there are two types of batteries — starting batteries and deep cycle batteries. The starting batteries are designed to offer quick energy flow, are thinner in size and come with higher plate count. The deep cycle batteries are just opposite to them. They might not produce as much instant energy as starting batteries but perform well in the long-term energy delivery. Their plates are comparatively thicker and can easily survive multiple discharge cycles. Some of the common deep cycle batteries are AGM batteries, GEL batteries, flooded batteries and lithium batteries.
